RASPBERRY LACE
(Elizabeth O. Shooter, 2001)

33 LM Re Noc Ext VFr Diploid Dor. #92-3768. [MAGIC LACE X SEEDLING]. 6 1/2 - 3 - 2.

Looking for colored edges? Then RASPBERRY LACE is just what you want. The tri-tone effect of these blooms begin in center with 2 1/2" of light lemon shaded pastel green; then comes cream and yellow peppered burgundy wine (light lavender effect); finally 1/2" ruffled edges are dark burgundy-wine-lavender. A hairline yellow cream edges finishes off the flowers. Form is very triangular, flat, overlapped with sepals recurving. Petal edges stand up, especially toward center. Midribs are wide and cream with slight lavender dusting. Edges are serrated, gathered, fringed and slightly bubbled. Velvety. Excellent substance. Outfacing blooms give effect of green-yellow-cream with dark purple edges in a clump. Wow! Three-way branching, 18-21 buds. A marvelous plicata.
