BAIT AND SWITCH
(John Shooter, 2002)

38 ML Re Fr Dor. #92-672 [ROBERT OLIVER X HOBKIRK INN]. 7 - 2 3/4 - 1 7/8. Diploid.

You won't be tricked by this late lovely because it will linger in your memory for a long time. Huge blooms of bright plum magenta with 4" centers of light green, light lemon, blue magenta, and lavender pink leave a lasting impression. The pattern of the flower's triangular center begins with a very large light green throat topped by a narrow band of light lemon which is outlined by a pencil line of blue magenta. Just above the blue magenta is a faint watermark of lavender pink in the center of the petals. Sepals are green cream overlaid plum magenta with creamy yellow edges. Wine veins. Form is full, triangular with petals that arch up (humped) and then recurve slightly and sepals that arch and recurve and curl. Very velvety texture, heavy substance. Ruffled, crimped, and pie-crusted.
