HOOKED ON EDGES
(Faye O. Shooter, 2002)
28 EM Re VFr SE. #95-F-132 COF [CIRCLE OF FRIENDS X Seedling].
5 1/2 - 2 3/4 - 1 3/4. Tetraploid.
Are you into edges? The 1/4" bright glittering yellow
bubbled/fringed/hooked edges will surely turn you on to this characteristic
in daylilies. Bitone blooms are strawberry pink with lavender magenta
shading, a 1/2" faint washed magenta rose eye and a 2" throat
of butter cream, pale pink, and light green. Burgundy veins. Then, there
are the edges-ruffled, hooked, knobbed, fringed-in a shining metallic
yellow. Sepals are light apricot cream flushed strawberry pink with yellow
cream edges. Form is rounded triangular, full, overlapped with all segment
tips recurving. Creped look, ribbed texture, good substance. Diamond dusted.
Three-way branching with 15-18 buds. Anyone for edges?
